U.S. Mission Staff Trains Budding Librarians in Anambra State

On Thursday, 14th July, 2011, the U.S. Diplomatic staff who were attending the National Conference took the opportunity of training students of the Department of Nnamdi Azikwe University, Akwa under the leadership of the Head of department - Dr. Obiora. The training  focused essentially on introducing to the students three main areas namely:

• Tools for Keeping-up on the News:Ho to create your first 'listening' Dashboard
• LibraryThing as a Cataloguing tool
• Opportunities available to Budding Libraries: American and Nigerian perspectives

The training was facilitated by Information Resource Officer, Suzanne Miller, IRC Director, Abuja - Elizabeth Akinbulumo and IRC Director, Lagos - Samuel Eyitayo. Some participants of the conference also took part in the training.
