Lagos Chapter of Nigerian School Library Association (NSLA) Launched

Lagos chapter of Nigerian School Library Association (NSLA), a section of Nigerian Library Association (NLA), was formally launched on Saturday 12th March, 2011 at Kings College, LagosThe programme was eventful.

The special guest, Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Princess Sarah Adebisi Sosan represented by Mrs Adeola Lawal (Director, Lagos State Library Board) declared the program opened.

The Executive Secretary, NSLA, Professor D.F. Elaturoti in his speech emphasised the important role of school library in the current educational reforms. He said that the launching Lagos state chapter is to support the campaign of taking the library to the doorstep of every child. Prof Elaturoti stated that Lagos chapter of NSLA would be a model to other chapters in Nigeria since Lagos is known for excellence.
